It’s time again for Community Medical Center’s Annual Diabetes Workshop. This year we celebrate with excitement and pride our 23 rd year of offering this event to Western Montana. Our goal is to enhance diabetes management for people with diabetes. Our workshops are attended by families touched by diabetes as well as school personnel and healthcare professionals.

OUR SPEAKER

In private practice for over 28 years, Dana Armstrong, RD, CDE, is the owner and program director for Diabetes & Nutrition Support Services in Salinas, California. She has developed educational programs that have benefited more than 6000 patients with diabetes, and specializes in the use of insulin pumps and continuous glucose sensing technology, as well as a patient-centered approach to diabetes treatment. She speaks nationally on diabetes care and management to both professionals and people with diabetes, and has authored two books and investigatorinitiated studies in these areas as well. She brings the nutritional and healing benefits of a plant-based, healthy lifestyle to her program and inspires through passion, education and amazing food. Dana received her degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of California, Davis, and University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha and has a certificate in plant based nutrition from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. “Lifestyle changes, lifesaving results” is the cornerstone trademark of her practice and the focus of Dana’s desire to bring healthy food and a well life to all who attend her classes and who she sees individually. Having a child with diabetes, she combines her professional knowledge with personal experience and understanding.
